History of VCA

It has been a great journey of faith in God that has brought VCA to the place it is today. In the fall of 1994 God put it on the hearts of Paul and Debby McCulloch to start a Christian school in the city of Owen Sound. After purchasing used equipment from a school in Northern New York State and securing a place for the school to begin, they traveled down to Louisville, Texas for training.

Starting with 7 students, the school began under the name Cross Christian Academy. It was an exciting year as God brought staff and students together for this history making year. The school used several sites for the first few years including the former RCA building not far from the Goodyear plant on the East side of Owen Sound's shoreline.

In 2001 it moved in with its church facility in front of the United Furniture building at 1125 8th Street East where it remained until 2005. When the former Rockview Christian School building came available for purchase there was plenty of excitement with the prospect of officially owning their own facility.

In September of 2005, VCA had its first school day in this new facility that offered lots of playground area, fully equipped kitchen and lunchroom, multiple classrooms and room to grow.

At the time of this writing, VCA  is about to start its 14th consecutive year of serving the city of Owen Sound by offering quality Christian education with academic excellence in a God centered atmosphere.

The future looks bright for the staff and students at VCA. We welcome you to come and see what the Lord has done and how it can be a blessing to you and your family.
